Neptune recently deployed the initial three, of seven, Wellhead Integrity Systems for BP’s Quad 204 project on board the Deep Sea Aberdeen drilling rig in the UK.
These systems were engineered and manufactured at Neptune’s facilities in Aberdeen following extensive collaboration with BP. Neptune’s proposed wellhead strengthening design solution was assessed by BP’s Technical Risk Assurance Process (TRAP), which involves BPs’ global technical authority experts, and was approved for implementation.
Following approval from BP’s technical experts, Neptune commenced the manufacturing and subsequent delivery and deployment of the systems. Works will continue in the coming months, with the final systems expected to be installed in second half of 2015.
Neptune Chief Executive Officer, Robin King said “this project is a significant milestone for our UK based Engineering and Manufacturing, Assembly and Testing businesses. It demonstrates our integrated abilities in the region and furthermore, our technical expertise in delivering an innovative solution which passed the rigorous assessments of a major oil and gas operator and one of our key clients.”
