Salvage Support in the Singapore Straits

News

Neptune recently provided integrated Survey & ROV Services in support of a salvage project to remove a wreck in the Traffic Separation Scheme area of the Singapore Straits.

To support the scope, Neptune provided project management and a 7-man strong team to seamlessly deliver the integrated services. Neptune’s Survey team maintained surface positioning of the crane barge and utilised Neptune’s proprietary NepSMART Tug Management System to maintain positioning of the support vessels. Positioned by Sonardyne’s latest Mini-Ranger 2 USBL System, Neptune’s ROV team operated the Swift Work Class ROV around the wreck in challenging conditions to complete the required surveys using Blueview Sonar and manipulators to conduct intricate work in securing rigging for the actual lift and recovery.

Neptune Chief Executive Officer, Robin King commented: "This project demonstrates Neptune’s ability to transfer skills and techniques from the oil and gas sector to benefit other diverse and complex sectors such as Salvage. In addition, this project showcased Neptune’s ability to offer cost-effective integrated Survey and ROV Services for time sensitive projects at short notice in the region.”
